Abstract: Oral English teaching in primary schools plays an important role in English learning, which also lays the foundation for the whole English teaching. However, there exist some drawbacks in oral English teaching in our country primary schools for a long period of time. For example, the lack of relevance among the spoken words and so on. However, situational teaching method has some positive effects on solving this problem. Based on the situational teaching theory, taking a primary oral English class as an example, this paper analyzes the role and influence of the teachers in the primary oral English class and puts forward some effective countermeasures to the drawbacks in the current oral English teaching. The paper aims to provide some guidance and suggestions for the teaching of spoken language in primary school.
