ABSTRACT

A Clean, Well-lighted Place is a typical work of nihilism. This work presents unique nihilism in many aspects, which has high research value. The author Hemingway shows the essence of nihilism to people in the works. There is a strong sense of nihilism, which belongs to the sense of sensual pleasure, and it is embodied in his thoughts.

In this paper, it takes the form of literature review, through the review collection and research literature on the book. It mainly analyses three aspects, which are the environmental factors, communication and the attitude to work. To explore the nihilism in A Clean, Well Lighted Place, and sum up the nihilism of Hemingway, the paper helps readers have a better understanding about Hemingway's nihilism.
