Abstract
As a very unique branch of literature, children’s literature has special target audience and literary characteristics. In recent years, many scholars abroad and at home have been exploring the translation of children’s literature from different perspectives, and have achieved many important results. However, from the overall perspective of literary translation, the translation of children’s literature is still in marginalized status. Based on the Chinese versions of Charlotte’s Web and the characteristics of children’s literature, this paper analyzes the application of Skopos Theory in the Chinese translation of English children’s literature, and discusses the embodiment of the three principles respectively, namely, the Skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule in the Chinese version of Charlotte’s web, hoping to provide some references for the translation of children’s literature.
