Many commercial disputes can be resolved by means of arbitration and mediation, etc. These methods and some others likely make up “alternative dispute resolution”, which is usually called ADR, a means of resolving disputes beyond litigation. At present, ADR is more and more popular in America and some countries for resolving commercial disputes.

　　　Then what’s the meaning of Alternative Dispute resolution? It was originated in America. Joanne H.
