摘  要

　　　雖然每年國內出版的傳記刊物數量不少，但由于缺乏好作品和翻譯難度大等問題，導致市面上很少出現高質量的中國文學翻譯作品，這無疑阻礙了中華文化的傳播和中外交流。正值廣東省創建“文化強省”之際，本文通過整理廣東文化名人何香凝傳記資料并進行英文翻譯，從中總結翻譯實踐經驗。

　　　論文分四部分，第一部分主要介紹了翻譯文本內容、選材的來源及文本特點。第二部分是翻譯正文。第三部分是翻譯方法探索，針對人物傳記的文本特點確定翻譯思路、策略，舉例分析了翻譯中采用的增譯法、詞類轉換、引申譯法。第四部分是筆者的翻譯體會，主要談及筆者在翻譯過程中的遇到的問題及相應的解決辦法和本文存在的不足。

Abstract

　　　Though the number of biography publication is large in China every year, it is rare to find fine translation works of Chinese literature resulting from lack of good creations and great difficulty in translation, which, undoubtedly, hinders the transmission of Chinese culture and the communication between China and foreign countries. Therefore, as Guangdong is under the construction of cultural province, this thesis will conclude translation experience through English translation practice of biography of He Xiangning, a cultural celebrity in Guangdong, after selecting the source material, thus coming up with concrete translation strategies for English translation in biography. 

　　　The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter One is a brief introduction of the translated text, source material, features of the text. Chapter Two includes the translation of the translated text. Chapter Three studies the translation methods. In this part, examples by adopting amplification, conversion and extension in translation are analyzed after confirming the translation process and strategies according to the features of the text. Chapter Four gives the author’s translation experience which mainly includes problems and their corresponding solutions in translation process as well as the inadequacy in the thesis.
